Commercial, Office, and Industrial Projects
Leech House & Medical Clinic Restoration
City of Walnut Creek, 1993
The Leech House Project involved relocation and restoration of and 1870’s vintage farmhouse, as part of a larger 7,400 square foot retail and office development. Originally built by a prominent local physician and mayor of the City of Walnut Creek, the restored residence now provides a focal point and architectural theme for the connecting commercial building. The relocated and restored building incorporate authentic window cornice, siding and other architectural components, milled to match the original components. Acting as project manager, we coordinated the efforts of a project architect, landscape architect, soils engineer, structural engineer and building contractor to develop and refine the overall project design. In addition, we secured necessary entitlements from the City of Walnut Creek along with a citizen group formed for the purpose of preserving the old house.
